He means: that my affair with My servants is not like the affair of masters with their slaves. The masters of slaves only own them to assist them in obtaining their livelihoods and provisions. Either they are equipped for trade to gain profit, or they are arranged for agriculture to cultivate the land, or they are engaged in a craft to benefit from their wages, or they are woodcutters, or gatherers, or cooks, or bakers, and similar jobs and professions that are involved in the means of living and the doors of sustenance. As for the owner who possesses the slaves and says to them: work for what brings you happiness in yourselves, I do not want to occupy you with obtaining my sustenance or your sustenance. I am independent of you and your services, and I bestow upon you your sustenance and what rectifies you and sustains you from Me. I am indeed the Strong, the Mighty. It is read in the nominative as an adjective for 'the possessor', and in the genitive as an adjective for 'the strength' in the interpretation of ability. The meaning in describing Him with strength and might is that He is the capable, the exceedingly able to do all things. And it is read: 'the Provider'. In the recitation of the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him: 'Indeed, I am the Provider.'
