So turn away from them. So turn away from those to whom you have repeatedly called and they did not respond. You have recognized their stubbornness and obstinacy, so there is no blame upon you for turning away after you have conveyed the message and exerted your effort in delivering and calling. And do not cease reminding and admonishing with the days of Allah, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers, meaning it has an effect on those whom Allah knows will enter into faith, or it increases the faith of those entering into it. It has been narrated that when 'So turn away from them' was revealed, the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace be upon him, was saddened, and this weighed heavily on his companions. They thought that the revelation had ceased and that punishment had come. So Allah revealed, and He mentioned.
