The meaning is: Do you blame us and deny us except for the belief in all the revealed books, and that most of you are disobedient? If you say: What is the reason for the conjunction of the saying, and that most of you are disobedient? I say: There are several aspects: one of them is that it is connected to the statement, 'We have believed,' meaning: And what do you find fault with us except for the combination of our belief and your rebellion and departure from faith, as if it were said: And what do you deny from us except your opposition, since we have entered into the religion of Islam while you are outside of it. It may also be that it is based on an implied omission, meaning: And the belief that you are disobedient. Another possibility is that it is connected to the genitive, meaning: And what do you find fault with us except the belief in Allah and what has been revealed and that most of you are disobedient. It may also be that the waw (and) means 'with,' meaning: And what do you find fault with us except the belief with the fact that most of you are disobedient. It may also be a justification connected to an omitted justification, as if it were said: And what do you find fault with us except the belief due to your lack of fairness and your disobedience and your following of desires. This is supported by the interpretation of Al-Hasan: 'By your disobedience, you have found fault with that upon us.'
