Commentary
So indeed, the party of Allah is from establishing the apparent in place of the hidden. [Mahmoud said: "This is from establishing the pure in place of the hidden, and its meaning ... etc."] Ahmad said: And its opposite is His saying, the Exalted: (Indeed, the losers are those who have lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, the wrongdoers are in a lasting punishment.) So He placed the wrongdoers in place of the pronoun of the first to increase their attribute of wrongdoing to loss. And its meaning is: They are the victorious, but by that they have made them signs for being the party of Allah. And what is the origin of the party? It is a group that gathers for their matter of the party. It is possible that by the party of Allah, he means the Messenger and the believers. And the meaning would be: And whoever takes them as allies has indeed taken the party of Allah as allies, and has supported himself with one who cannot be overcome.
