The possessors of determination are those of seriousness, steadfastness, and patience. And 'min' may be for partitive, and what is meant by the possessors of determination is some of the prophets. It is said: they are Noah, who was patient with the harm of his people; they would strike him until he would faint. And Abraham, with the fire and the slaughter of his son; and Isaac, with the slaughter; and Jacob, with the loss of his son and the loss of his sight; and Joseph, with the pit and the prison; and Job, with the affliction; and Moses, when his people said to him: 'Indeed, we are overtaken,' he said: 'No! Indeed, my Lord is with me; He will guide me.' And David cried for his sin for forty years. And Jesus did not place a brick upon a brick and said: 'It is a passage, so pass through it and do not build upon it.' And Allah, the Exalted, said about Adam: 'And We did not find for him determination,' and about Jonah: 'And do not be like the companion of the fish.' And it may be for clarification, so the possessors of determination would be a description of all the messengers. And do not hasten for the disbelievers of Quraysh with the punishment, meaning: do not supplicate for them for its hastening, for it is certainly coming upon them, even if it is delayed. And they are short-sighted at that time regarding the duration of their stay in this world until they think it is an hour of the day. 'A message' means this which you have been advised is enough in the admonition. Or this is a conveyance from the Messenger, blessings and peace be upon him. So, will anyone be destroyed except those who turn away from being admonished by it and acting accordingly? And it indicates the meaning of conveyance the reading of one who recited: 'Convey, so will anyone be destroyed?' And it was read: 'A message,' meaning convey a message: and it was read: 'Will be destroyed,' with the opening of the 'ya' and the breaking of the 'lam' and its opening, from 'halaka' and 'halak.' And we will destroy with the 'nun' except the disobedient people.
