Commentary
It was recited: 'Hasana', with a dammah on the ح and a sukoon on the س. And with both having a dammah. And with both having a fatha. And 'Ihsana'. And 'Karaha', with a fatha and a dammah, and they are two languages in the meaning of hardship, like 'faqru' and 'faqr'. Its accusative case is on the condition: meaning: having hardship.
Or it is on the basis that it is an adjective for the source, meaning: a burden that has hardship. And its carrying and weaning and the duration of its carrying and weaning is thirty months. This is evidence that the minimum duration of pregnancy is six months, because the duration of nursing is two years, due to His saying, the Exalted: 'Two complete years for whoever intends to complete the nursing.' Thus, six months remain for the pregnancy. And it was recited: 'And his weaning.'
And 'fadl' and 'fisal' are like 'fatm' and 'fatam', in structure and meaning. If you say: The intention is to clarify the duration of nursing, not weaning, how is it expressed as 'fisal'? I say: Since nursing is followed by weaning and is intertwined with it because it ends with it and completes it:
It is called weaning, just as the duration is called a term by the one who said:
'Every living being completes the duration of life... and a creature when its term ends.' [[Refer to the explanation of this verse in the first part, page 277, if you wish, the corrector said.]]
And in it is a benefit, which is the indication of complete nursing ending with weaning and its time. And it was recited: 'Until when he reaches maturity and reaches his full strength.' And reaching maturity means that he becomes an adult and attains the age at which his strength, intellect, and discernment are established, which is when he approaches thirty and nears forty. And from Qatadah: thirty-three years, and his reasoning is that this is the beginning of maturity, and its limit is forty. It is said that no prophet was sent except after forty years.
And the intended blessing for which gratitude is sought is the blessing of monotheism and Islam, and he combined between thanking the blessing upon himself and upon his parents, because the blessing upon them is a blessing upon him. And it was said regarding the praiseworthy deed: It is the five daily prayers.
If you say: What is the meaning of 'fi' in His saying: 'And make righteous for me in my offspring'? I say: Its meaning is that he makes his offspring a place of righteousness [[Mahamud said: 'If you say: What is the meaning of 'fi' here, and he answered that it means making his offspring... etc.' Ahmad said: And similar is His saying: 'Except for the affection in kinship', deviating from saying: 'Except for the affection of kinship.' Or the affection for kinship, and Allah knows best.]] and a likelihood of it, as if he said: Grant me righteousness in my offspring and place it in them, and similar to:
'It injures in their ankles, we pray.' [[Refer to the explanation of this verse in the second part, page 578, if you wish, the corrector said.]]
From the Muslims, from the sincere. And it was recited: 'Yatqabbalu', and 'Yatajawaazu', with a fatha on the ي, and the pronoun in both is for Allah, the Exalted. And it was recited with a ن. If you say: What is the meaning of His saying: 'In the companions of Paradise'? I say: It is similar to saying:
'The prince honored me in a group of his companions', meaning: He honored me among those whom he honored, and he included me among them, and its position is accusative on the condition, meaning: being among the companions of Paradise and counted among them. 'Wa'da as-sidq' is a source of confirmation, because His saying: 'Yatqabbalu' and 'Yatajawaazu' is a promise from Allah to them of acceptance and forgiveness. And it was said:
It was revealed regarding Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, and regarding his father Abu Quhafah and his mother Umm al-Khayr and his children, and the acceptance of his supplication for them. And it was said: No one among the companions, from the emigrants or the helpers, has embraced Islam along with his parents, his sons, and his daughters except Abu Bakr.
