They have combined in disbelief three types of disbelief. This is because they attributed to Allah a son, and they attributed to Him the lowest of the two types and made Him one of the angels, who are the most honored of Allah's servants before Him. [His saying 'they are the most honored of Allah's servants before Him' is according to the Mu'tazila. As for the people of the Sunnah, some humans are more honored to them than the angels.] So they belittled them and despised them.

And it is recited: 'the servants of the Most Merciful,' and 'the slaves of the Most Merciful,' and 'the servant of the Most Merciful,' which is an example of their closeness and their exclusivity. And 'females' and 'female' are the plural of the plural. And the meaning of 'they made' is 'they named' and 'they said that they are females.' And it is recited: 'Did they witness?' and 'Did they witness?' with two hamzahs, one open and one closed. Or 'Did they witness?' with an alif between them. This is mockery of them, meaning that they say this without their saying being based on knowledge, for Allah did not compel them to knowledge of that, nor did they approach it through reasoning, nor did they encompass it from a report that necessitates knowledge. So nothing remains except that they witness their creation, and they informed of this witnessing. Their testimony will be written, which they testified about the angels regarding their femininity, and they will be questioned. This is a warning.

And it is recited: 'It will be written,' and 'We will write' with the pronoun and the noun. And 'their testimony' and 'their testimonies.' And 'they will be questioned,' in: 'they will be asked.'
