44The one whom Allah lets go astray, there is no one for him to protect thereafter. And you will see the wrongdoers, when they will see the punishment, that they will say, “Is there any way to be sent back (to the world)? ”

Commentary

And whoever Allah leads astray, then he has no protector after Him. This saying, 'And whoever Allah leads astray, then he has no protector,' is an interpretation according to the doctrine of the Mu'tazila: that He, the Exalted, does not create evil. And according to the Ahl al-Sunnah, He creates it just as He creates good; thus, leading astray is the creation of misguidance. 'And after Him' means after His leading astray. So, he has no supporter who will take care of him after his being forsaken.
