Commentary
He is Kind to His servants, and His kindness is profound towards them. His kindness reaches all of them, and it reaches each one of them to a place that they cannot reach. They are one of His totalities and particulars. If you say: What is the meaning of His saying, 'He provides for whom He wills,' after His kindness has reached all of them? I say: All of them are recipients of His kindness; no one is devoid of it. However, kindness has types and attributes. The distribution among the servants varies according to the differences in the matters of wisdom and management. For some of the servants, a type of kindness may soar that is not experienced by another. This one receives a portion with an attribute that is not the attribute of his companion. So, whoever is given something that is not given to another has been provided for, and this is what He meant by His saying, 'He provides for whom He wills,' just as one of the two brothers may receive a child while the other does not, even though the one who did not receive a child has been granted another blessing that the one with the child has not received. And He is the Powerful, the One of great ability, the Overcoming over all things, the Mighty, the Stronghold that cannot be overcome.
