Commentary
This is also another indication of His distinction with specific actions. He made the earth a resting place and the sky a canopy. From this, the buildings of the Arabs are for their camps, because the sky, in the sight of the eye, is like a dome stretched over the surface of the earth. 'So He has made your forms good' is read with a kasra on the 's' and the meaning is the same. It is said that He did not create any creature more beautiful in form than man. It is said that He did not create them inverted like animals, as His saying: 'in the best of stature.' So call upon Him and worship Him, making the religion sincere for Him, meaning obedience free from polytheism and showing off, saying: 'Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.' And from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: Whoever says there is no god but Allah, let him say afterwards: 'Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.' [Reported by al-Tabari, al-Hakim, and al-Bayhaqi in 'The Names and Attributes,' and Ibn Mardawayh from the narration of al-Amash from Mujahid from him.]
