وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِيٓ ءَامَنَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱتَّبِعُونِ أَهۡدِكُمۡ سَبِيلَ ٱلرَّشَادِ ٣٨ ﴿38 يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنَّمَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا مَتَٰعٞ وَإِنَّ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ ٱلۡقَرَارِ ٣٩ ﴿39
38And said he who had believed, “O my people, follow me, I will show you the path of guidance. 39O my people, this life of the world is only a (momentary) benefit, while the Hereafter is, indeed, the place of permanent living.

He said, 'I guide you to the path of righteousness.' So he summarized for them, then he explained. He began by condemning this world and belittling its status, because attachment to it is the root of all evil. From it branches all that leads to the anger of Allah and brings misery in the end.
