Az-Zumar: the separate groups, some following others. And they have gathered. He said: Until the groups have risen after groups. "Indeed, the seekers of sustenance have been overwhelmed... until the groups have risen after groups. "The 'suyub' originally means: the floods, borrowed for the abundant gifts in a figurative manner. And 'ghamr' means: to be overwhelmed, meaning that the seekers of sustenance have been encompassed by the one praised for the gifts. 'Ahz'alat' means: have risen, moving from him, 'zumar' means: groups after groups. It is narrated: 'zumran', in the state, meaning: the seekers have risen while being successive groups. In the first case, it shows clarity in a place of omission, indicating abundance. It is said regarding the groups of those who are pious: they are the different ranks: the martyrs, the ascetics, the scholars, the reciters, and others. And it is recited: a warning from you. If you say: why did I add to them today? I say: they wanted to meet at this time, which is the time of their entrance into the Fire, not the Day of Resurrection. The usage of 'day' and 'days' has come abundantly in times of hardship. They said: 'Yes, they came to us and recited to us, but the word of Allah has become due upon us, I will surely fill Hell, for our evil deeds,' as they said: 'Our misfortune has overwhelmed us and we were a people astray.' So they mentioned their deeds that necessitate the word of punishment, which is disbelief and misguidance. And the 'lam' in 'al-mutakabbirin' is for the genus, because the abode of the arrogant is the subject of 'bisa', and 'bisa' has as its subject: a definite noun with the 'lam' of genus, or added to something similar, and the specific mention of blame is omitted, its estimation being: 'So, what a terrible abode for the arrogant is Hell.'
