Commentary
Cursing and throwing: [the saying "Cursing and throwing is the throwing of the arrow" in the dictionaries: I threw something gently if I pushed it softly. (A)] The arrow and similar things are thrown with a push and reliance. They are borrowed from their literal meaning to mean throwing. Hence, His saying, "And He cast terror into their hearts," and "Cast it into the coffin." The meaning of "He casts with the truth" is that He throws it down to His prophets. Or it is thrown with falsehood, which crushes it and destroys it. The Knower of the Unseen is raised, carried on the place of 'if' and its subject, or on what is implied in "He casts," or it is a news of a deleted subject. It has been recited in the accusative as an attribute of the Lord, or as praise. It has been recited: the Unseen with the three vowel markings, so the Unseen is like the houses. And the Unseen is like the patient, which is the matter that has greatly disappeared and is hidden.
