Commentary
So He compensates him; He compensates him with something other than it. Either immediately with wealth, or with contentment, which is a treasure that does not diminish. Or later with the reward, which is better than all compensation. And from Mujahid: Whoever has enough of this wealth to sustain himself should be moderate, for sustenance is divided. Perhaps what has been divided for him is little, and he spends in a manner of someone who has plenty, so he spends all that he has and remains in poverty for the rest of his life. And let him not interpret: 'And whatever you spend of anything, He replaces it,' for this is in the Hereafter. The meaning of the verse is: And whatever compensation there is, it is from the best of providers, and the highest of them is the Lord of Glory, for all that He provides to others: from a ruler who provides for his soldiers, or a master who provides for his servant, or a man who provides for his family: it is all from the provision of Allah, which He has made flow through these hands. He is the Creator of provision and the Creator of the means by which the provided benefit from the provision. And from some of them: Praise be to Allah who brought me into existence and made me among those who desire, for how many who desire do not find, and how many who find do not desire.
