Commentary
And it was recited: 'Our masters and our leaders': and they are the heads of disbelief who taught them disbelief and adorned it for them. It is said: he went astray and he led him astray. The addition of the alif is for the purpose of vocalization: I made the pauses of the verses like the rhymes of poetry, and its benefit is the pause and indication that the speech has stopped, and that what follows is a new beginning. And it was recited: 'much', to indicate the abundance of curses. And 'great', to indicate the most severe and greatest curse. 'Twofold weakness' for his misguidance and weakness for his leading astray: they acknowledge, and they seek help, and they wish, but nothing of that will benefit them.
