Tafsir for verses: 32:10, 32:11
10And they said, “Is it that when we disappear in the earth-is it that we really come into a new creation?” Rather they are ones who deny the meeting with their Lord. 11Say, “The angel of death who has been assigned for you will take your soul in full, then you will be brought back to your Lord.”

Commentary

And they said, it was said by the speaker Abu ibn Khalaf, and for their satisfaction with his words, it was attributed to them all. And it was read: A'inna. And we, in the form of questioning, and leaving it, have we become dust, and have we gone mixed with the dust of the earth, not distinguishing from it, just as water is mixed in milk, or we have disappeared in the earth by being buried in it, from His saying: And they returned, misled, with a clear eye. And they returned, misled, with a clear eye... and it was left in the rolling hills, with firmness and generosity, mourning a dead person. And the return: is the coming back. And misguidance: is the pouring and disappearing. And rolling: is a mountain in Ash-Sham. And the generous: is the gift, meaning: by leaving that which is described with firmness and generosity, for they have left the descriptions there. And it was read by Waab and Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them: Dhallalna, with a broken lam. It is said: Dhalla yadhillu and Dhalla yadhillu. And Al-Hasan, may Allah be pleased with him, read: Sallalna, from Sallal meat and Asall: if it becomes foul. And it was said: We have become of the kind of Sila, which is the earth. If you say: What made the circumstance in A'ida Dhallalna? I say: What is indicated by Inna Lafee Khalqin Jadeed, and we will be resurrected. The meeting with their Lord: is the reaching the outcome, from encountering the Angel of Death and what is beyond it. So when their disbelief in creation was mentioned, it turned away from it to what is more significant in disbelief, which is that they are disbelievers in all that occurs in the outcome, not just in creation alone: Do you not see how they were addressed with the taking of the Angel of Death and the return to their Lord after that, resurrected for reckoning and recompense? And this is the meaning of meeting Allah as we have mentioned, and the taking: is the completion of the soul, which is the spirit. Allah, the Exalted, said: Allah takes the souls, and He said: Bring out your souls, which means that He takes all of it, leaving nothing of it. From your saying: I have taken my right from so-and-so, and we have taken it fully complete without deficiency. And the forms of Taf'al and Istif'al: meet in places: among them: I sought it and I sought it thoroughly, and I hastened it and I hastened it. And from Mujahid, may Allah be pleased with him: The Angel of Death was given the earth, and it was made for him like a basin, from which he takes as he wishes. And from Qatadah: He takes them with him helpers from the angels. And it was said: The Angel of Death calls the souls and they respond to him, then he commands his helpers to take them.
