We will surely settle them in the highest places of Paradise. It has also been read as 'We will establish them,' from [the root] thawa, which means to descend for residence. It is said: 'Thawa in the house,' and 'Athwa' is him, and 'Athwa' is another, and 'thawa' is intransitive. If it is made transitive by adding the hamzah of transfer, it does not exceed one object, like: 'He went,' and 'I made him go.' The way it is made transitive to the pronoun of the believers and to the chambers is either by treating it like 'We will descend them and settle them,' or by omitting the preposition and connecting the verb, or by likening the specified circumstance [the phrase 'specified circumstance' refers to the chambers]. And Yahya ibn Wathab read: 'So indeed,' with the addition of the letter fa, those who were patient in leaving their homelands and migrating for the sake of religion. And in enduring the harm of the polytheists, and in trials and calamities, and in obedience, and in avoiding sins, and they did not rely in all of that except on Allah.
