38And (We destroyed) ‘Ād and Thamūd, and it is visible to you through their dwellings. And the Satan had beautified for them their deeds, so he prevented them from the (right) way, even though they were people of insight.

And 'Aad is mentioned by implying 'We destroyed them,' because His saying, 'So the earthquake seized them,' indicates this. It is in the meaning of destruction.
