Commentary
My partners are based on their claim, and in it is mockery. If you say: 'Claim' requires two objects, like his saying: ... 'And I did not think you were isolated from that' [[And indeed, the one who has lived, O mother of Malik ... dies, and I did not think you were isolated from that.]] He says. And indeed, every living being - even if its life is long - dies. And I did not think you, O mother of Malik, were isolated from that judgment or death. And 'isolation' means a place of solitude and separation, meaning: I did not think you were in isolation from it, or of an isolated nature, or separated, or the very saying is an exaggeration. So where are they? I say: They are omitted, its meaning being: 'those whom you used to claim as my partners.' It is permissible to omit the two objects in the case of 'I thought,' and it is not correct to limit it to one of them.
