Commentary
And whatever you have obtained of the worldly causes, it is nothing but enjoyment and adornment for a few days. This is the duration of life that passes. And what is with Allah, which is His reward, is better in itself than that and more lasting, for its permanence is eternal. And it was read: 'ya'qiloon', with a 'ya', which is more eloquent in the admonition. And from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that Allah created the world and made its people three categories: the believer, the hypocrite, and the disbeliever. The believer takes provisions, the hypocrite adorns himself, and the disbeliever enjoys.
