18Then next morning he was fearful in the city, waiting (for what comes next) when the man who sought his help the day before, shouted to him for help (again). Mūsā said to him, “You are surely a clear trouble-maker.” 19Thereafter when he intended to grasp at the one who was an enemy to both of them, he (i.e. the Israelite) said, “O Mūsā, do you want to kill me as you have killed a person yesterday? Your intention is only to become a tyrant in the land, and you do not intend to be one of the peace-makers.”

Commentary

He is anticipating the disliked thing, which is benefiting from it, or the news and what is said about it. The description of the Israeli is that he is wicked, because he was the cause of the killing of a man while he was fighting another. And it was recited: 'yabṭish' with a dammah. And the one who is an enemy to both of them is the Copt, because he is not on their religion, and because the Copts were enemies of the Children of Israel. And the tyrant:

The one who does what he wants of striking and killing unjustly, not considering the consequences nor repelling with what is better:

And it was said: the arrogant one who does not humble himself to the command of Allah. And when he said this, he spread the news about Moses, and the talk circulated in the city and reached Pharaoh, and they plotted to kill him.
