Commentary
It was recited: "and let him fear," with a kasra on the qaf and the ha with connection and without connection. And with the ha being silent. And with the qaf being silent and the ha being broken: it resembles "taqah" with "katif" so it was lightened, as in his saying:
"Sulaimah said, 'Buy us some sawiq.'
"Sulaimah said, 'Buy us some sawiq... and bring the bread of wheat or some flour.'
This is by Al-Adhafar Al-Kindi. It is said: 'Shar' honey and the like, and 'ishtarah': if he gathered it and took it from its place. So his saying 'buy' is a command from 'ishtiyar.' It is possible that it is from 'ishtira,' and its ra was made silent for necessity, meaning: 'seek for us sawiq.' It is what the Arabs make from wheat and barley. And 'bring': with a kasra on the ta, a command for the masculine, she requested from him the sawiq for the dip, and she gave him the choice between bringing bread and bringing flour which she would bake. And it is narrated: 'and bring the wheat of the baks or some flour.' And 'baks' is the land that grows without irrigation. In the rest of the verse, she requested from him meat, a servant, and dye for her clothes with safflower, so he said:
'O Sulaim, if I were capable of this... my life would not be a burden to you.'
Meaning: the duration of the bird's "tarniq," meaning: spreading its wings in the air.]
And certainly, Allah has gathered in this verse the causes of success. And from Ibn Abbas regarding its interpretation: 'And whoever obeys Allah in His obligations and His Messenger in His traditions and fears Allah for what has passed of his sins and fears Him for what is to come.'
And from some kings, he asked about a sufficient verse, and this verse was recited to him.
