Commentary
Allah made the distinction between the truthful and the lying accuser: the establishment of the testimony of the four witnesses and its absence. Those who accused Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, did not have any proof for their words. The evidence was established against them, and they were, in the judgment and law of Allah, liars. This is a reprimand and scolding for those who heard the slander but did not find a way to refute or deny it. It is an argument against them based on what is clear and evident in the law: the obligation to disbelieve the accuser without proof, and to punish him if he accuses a chaste woman from the honor of the Muslim women. So how about the Mother of the Believers, the truthful one, the daughter of the truthful one, the sanctity of the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace be upon him, and the beloved of the beloved of Allah?
