And it was recited: 'I came to them' and 'I came to them', with the opening and the closing, with the truth that the attribution of a child to Him is impossible and that polytheism is false. And indeed, they are liars when they claim for Him a child and a partner. If every god had taken what he created, we would not have singled out each one of the gods with the creation he created and monopolized. You would have seen the dominion of each one of them distinguished from the dominion of the others, and some of them would have overcome others, just as you see the situation of the kings of this world, their kingdoms are distinct and they compete with each other. And since you do not see any trace of the distinction of the kingdoms or the competition, know that there is one God in whose hand is the dominion of all things. If you say: 'Then it does not enter except upon a statement that is a reward and a response, how did His saying
