Commentary
In the letter of Abiyy: it was a team, with the opening, meaning: because of it. Al-Sukhriyy - with the dammah and the kasrah - is the source of sakhara like al-sukhur, except that in the yā of the nisbah there is an increase in strength in the action, as it is said the specificity in al-khususiyyah. And from Al-Kisai and Al-Farra: that the kasrah is from al-huz' (mockery), and the dammah is from al-sukhrah and al-'ubudiyyah, meaning: you mocked them and enslaved them. The first is the opinion of Al-Khalil and Sibawayh. It was said: they are the companions, and it was said they are the people of the Suffah specifically. Its meaning is: you took them as mockery and occupied yourselves with them in mockery until you forgot My remembrance by your occupation with them in that state, so you left it, meaning: you left to mention Me so that you fear Me in My allies. And it was read 'ANNAHUM with the opening, so the kasrah is an introduction, meaning: they have succeeded where they were patient, so they were rewarded for their patience with the best reward. And with the opening as if it is the object of 'I rewarded them for their success.'
