Commentary
That is, that victory is because He is capable. Among the signs of His supreme power is that He brings the night into the day and brings the day into the night, or because He is the Creator of the night and the day and the One who directs them. Nothing is hidden from Him of what occurs in them by the hands of His servants, whether it be good or evil, oppression or fairness. And He is All-Hearing of what they say, All-Seeing of what they do. If you say: What is the meaning of bringing one of the two into the other? I say: It is the attainment of the darkness of this in the place of the light of that by the setting of the sun. And the light of that in the place of the darkness of this by its rising, just as the path is illuminated by the lamp and becomes dark in its absence. It is said: It is the increase in one of them of what is decreased from the other in hours.
