Commentary
It is said regarding Dhul-Kifl: he is Ilyas. And it is said: he is Zakariya. And it is said: he is Yusha' ibn Nun, and it seems he was named that because he is the one with a share from Allah and the one who is favored. [The saying "and the favored" in the dictionaries means "the share" and "luck." You say: I have renewed, O so-and-so, meaning: I have become one with a share, so you are newly favored, and the favored one is fortunate.] Truly, it is said: he had a lesser amount of the deeds of the prophets in his time and a lesser reward. And it is said: there are five prophets who have two names: Israel and Ya'qub, Ilyas and Dhul-Kifl, 'Isa and Al-Masih, Yunus and Dhul-Nun, Muhammad and Ahmad: blessings and peace of Allah be upon them all.
