24Is it that they have adopted gods besides Him? Say, “Bring your proof.” Here is the (book carrying) advice for those with me, and the (books carrying) advice for those before me. Yet most of them do not know the truth, and therefore they are averse.

Repeat: Or have they taken gods besides Him, in horror of their affair and in awe of their disbelief? That is: You have described Allah, the Exalted, as having a partner, so bring your proof for that: either from the perspective of reason or from the perspective of revelation. For you will not find a book from the earlier ones except that it calls for the oneness of Allah and His being exalted above partners, and it forbids associating partners with Him and warns against it.
