Commentary
And those who are with Him are the angels. The meaning is that they are honored, placed - due to their honor with Him - in the position of those who are near to kings, by way of comparison and illustration of their nobility and virtue over all His creation. If you say: The term 'istihsar' is an exaggeration in describing 'hasr' (lack of energy), it was said by Mahmoud: 'If you say that 'istihsar' is not used here in negation... etc.' Ahmad said: And with something like it, the saying about Allah's words 'And your Lord is not unjust to the servants' is answered, so look at it. It would be more eloquent in describing them to deny the slightest 'hasr' from them. I say: In 'istihsar' there is an indication that what they are in necessitates the utmost 'hasr' and its extreme, and that they are deserving of those great acts of worship that they should be 'istahsar' in what they do. That is, their glorification is continuous and constant at all times, without interruption by leisure or other occupation.
