Commentary
Indeed, those who disbelieved means those who died among these concealers and did not repent. Their curse was mentioned while they were alive and then their curse as the dead. Al-Hasan read: 'and the angels and all the people' in the nominative, as an addition to the position of the name of Allah, because it is the doer in the estimation, like saying: 'I was amazed by the beating of Zayd and Amr,' meaning by the fact that Zayd and Amr were beaten. It is as if it was said: 'Those upon whom Allah and the angels have cursed.' If you say: What is the meaning of the saying 'and all the people' when among the people are the Muslim and the disbeliever? I say: He meant by 'the people' those whose curse is counted, and they are the believers. It is said: On the Day of Resurrection, some will curse others, remaining in the curse. It is said: in the Fire, except that it was implied to magnify its matter and to terrify. And they will not be looked upon, meaning they will not be given respite or delayed, or they will not be waited for to make excuses. And they will not be looked at with a gaze of mercy.
