Commentary
The word 'day' is in the accusative case, meaning the day we gather and drive: we will do to the two groups what cannot be described. Or mention the day we gather. It is permissible for it to be in the accusative case without 'they do not possess.' The mention of the righteous is in a tone of honor, as they are gathered to their Lord who has enveloped them with His mercy and has favored them with His pleasure and honor, just as delegations approach kings, waiting for honor from them. And from Ali, may Allah be pleased with him: 'They will not be gathered on their feet, but they will be on camels whose saddles are made of gold, and on steeds whose saddles are made of rubies.' [Narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah and Abdullah ibn Ahmad in the additions to the Musnad, and by Al-Tabari and Ibn Abi Hatim from the narration of Abdul Rahman ibn Ishaq ibn Al-Nu'man ibn Sa'd ibn Ali in a similar manner, and it was narrated by Ibn Abi Dawood in the Book of Resurrection from this chain as a raised narration. It was also narrated by Ibn Adi from the hadith of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, as a raised narration as well.]
