Commentary
From Our mercy, for the sake of Our mercy upon him and Our compassion towards him: We granted him Aaron. Or some of Our mercy, as in His saying, 'And We granted them from Our mercy.' And his brother in this context is an apposition. And Aaron is an explanatory addition, like saying: 'I saw a man, your brother Zayd.' And Aaron was older than Moses, so the granting was for his support and assistance, as reported from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him.
