Commentary
By what I forgot regarding that which I forgot, or by something I forgot, or by my forgetting: he meant that he forgot his will, and there is no blame on the one who forgets. Or he expressed the words in the context of forbidding blame for forgetfulness, implying that he may have forgotten to excuse himself in denial. This is one of the ways of speaking that avoids lying while achieving the aim, like the saying of Ibrahim: 'This is my sister,' and 'Indeed, I am ill.' Or he meant by forgetting: abandonment, meaning: do not blame me for what I abandoned of your will the first time. It is said: 'He overwhelmed him' when he covered him, and 'He overwhelmed him with it.' That is: do not overwhelm me with difficulty in my matter, which is following him, meaning: do not make it difficult for me to follow you, and make it easy for me by overlooking and refraining from discussion. And it was recited: 'difficulty,' with two dammas.
