He negated the ability to be patient with him in a definitive manner. [Mahamud said: "He negated the ability in a definitive manner..." Ahmad said: And what indicates that Musa, peace be upon him, was driven to hasten in denial is his fervor and zeal for the truth. He said when he damaged the ship: 'Did you damage it to drown its people?' He did not say 'to drown us.' He forgot himself and occupied himself with others in a situation where everyone says 'myself, myself,' not caring for wealth or children. That is the state of drowning. Glorified is He who has instilled in His prophets and chosen ones the advice for creation, compassion towards them, and mercy for them. Blessings and peace of Allah be upon them all. It is as if it is something that is not correct or proper, and he explained that he undertakes matters that are outwardly reprehensible. The righteous man—how about if he is a prophet—cannot help but feel disgusted, resentful, and distressed when he sees that and begins to deny it. And 'khabar' is a distinction, meaning: your news has not encompassed it, in the sense that you did not inform him, so it is in the accusative case as a verbal noun.
