He likens himself to them when they turned away from him and did not believe in him. He feels a deep sense of sorrow and regret for their turning away, like a man who has been separated from his loved ones and dear ones. He falls into despair over their traces and exhausts himself with grief for them and longing for their separation. It is recited: 'Bakhi' yourself, in its original form, and in the added form: meaning, kill it and destroy it. This is in the future tense for those who recited: 'If they do not believe.' And it is in the past tense for those who recited: 'If they did not believe,' meaning: because they did not believe in this narration of the Qur'an, out of sorrow, which serves as a reason for it, meaning: due to excessive sadness. It may also be understood as a state. And 'asaf' means the intensity of sadness and anger. It is said: a man is 'asif' and 'asif'.
