Commentary
For that which is the most upright, for the state that is the most upright of states and the most solid. Or for the religion. Or for the way. And wherever you are able, you will not find with affirmation the taste of eloquence that you find with omission, due to the grandeur in the ambiguity of the described by its omission that is lost with its clarification. And it was read: 'and gives glad tidings', with the lightening of the pronunciation. If you say: How did he mention the righteous believers and the disbelievers and not mention the sinners? I say: At that time, people were either a pious believer or a polytheist, and the matter of the sinners arose later. If you say: What is the reason for the conjunction with 'and that those who do not believe'? I say: It is in relation to 'that they have a great reward', meaning: he gave glad tidings to the believers with two tidings: of their reward and of the punishment of their enemies. And it may be intended: and he informs that those who do not believe are punished.
