Commentary
And the supplication and the response are metaphorical. The meaning is: On the Day He resurrects you, you will rise willingly and submissively, not refusing. And His saying 'with His praise' is a state of them, meaning praising, and it is an exaggeration in their submission to the resurrection. It is like saying to someone you command to ride something difficult for him, and he resists and refuses, 'You will ride it while you are praising and grateful,' meaning: you will compel him and interpret it forcefully until you soften him like the one who is willing and praises it. And from Sa'id ibn Jubair: They will shake the dust from their heads and say: 'Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise.' And you will think and see the horror, and at that moment you will feel that your time spent in this world was short, and you will consider it a day or part of a day. And from Qatadah: The world became insignificant in their eyes when they witnessed the Hereafter.
