[UNTRANSLATED-LATIN: dhurriyyata man hamalna] is in the accusative case for specification. It was said: it is in the vocative for those who read 'do not take' with the taa as a prohibition, meaning: We said to them do not take besides Me a guardian, O descendants of those whom We carried with Noah. And it may be made [UNTRANSLATED-LATIN: waliyyan] the object of 'do not take', meaning do not make them lords, like His saying: and He does not command you to take the angels and the prophets as lords. And among the descendants of those carried with Noah are Jesus and Ezra, peace be upon them. And it is read [UNTRANSLATED-LATIN: dhurriyyata man hamalna] in the nominative as a substitute for the waw of 'do not take'. And when he fulfilled his needs, he would say: 'Praise be to Allah who removed from me my discomfort in health, and if He willed, He could have kept me in distress.' It was narrated that when he intended to break his fast, he would offer his food to those who believed in him, and if he found someone in need, he would prefer him with it. If you say: the saying 'Indeed, he was a grateful servant' what is the connection to what preceded it? I say: it is as if it was said: do not take besides Me a guardian, and do not associate with Me, because Noah, peace be upon him, was a grateful servant, and you are the descendants of those who believed in him and were carried with him, so make him your example as your fathers made him their example.

And it may be a reason for their specification and praise upon the fact that they are the children of those carried with Noah, so they are connected to him, thus they deserve that specification. And it may be said in mentioning it as a digression.
