The example of Paradise is its description, which is in the strangeness of the example, and the predicate is omitted according to the view of Sibawayh, meaning in what We have narrated to you, the example of Paradise. Others said: The predicate is 'rivers flow beneath it,' as you would say: 'The description of Zayd is that he is dark-skinned.' Al-Zajjaj said: Its meaning is 'the example of Paradise, rivers flow beneath it,' with the description omitted, illustrating what is hidden from us by what we observe. And it was narrated from him, may Allah be pleased with him: 'Examples of Paradise,' in the plural, meaning its descriptions, its fruits are everlasting, as His saying: 'There is no cut-off and no forbidden,' and its shade is everlasting, which does not change, as it changes in this world due to the sun.
