Commentary
No one will believe in the faith of them, and it is like the impossible, which has no connection to expectation except for one who has believed, except for one who has found what he was expecting from his faith. And for the expectation, it has struck its target, so do not be grieved, do not grieve with a miserable, submissive sadness. He said: What Allah divides, accept it without being sad... and sit as a noble, comfortable one. [For al-Hassan, it is said: 'He became sad if he grieved from the abundance of calamities and hardships upon him. And 'al-bal' is the heart or the affair. He says: What Allah has divided for you of blessing or punishment, accept it while you are not saddened by it, meaning of what Allah has divided for you. And sit noble, not humiliated, in a good state and affair, or at ease in heart from the toil of this world. And it was narrated: 'And sit' with the hamza cut off, from 'aqada' in the transitive form, so 'noble' is an adjective in the first case, and an object in the second, and in it is abstraction.] And the meaning is: So do not grieve for what they have done of denying you, harming you, and opposing you, for the time for vengeance against them has come, with Our eyes, in the state, meaning: make it preserved, and its truth is: entangled with Our eyes, as if Allah has with him eyes that guard him from deviating in his creation from the right path, and that no one from his enemies may intervene between him and his work. And Our revelation: And We reveal to you and inspire you how to do. From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: He did not know how to make the ark, so Allah revealed to him to make it like the beak of a bird, and do not speak to me about those who have wronged, nor plead with me regarding your people and the averting of punishment from them, for indeed they are to be drowned. Indeed, they are judged to be drowned, and that has been decreed and the pen has dried, so there is no way to stop it, like His saying: O Ibrahim, turn away from this, indeed the command of your Lord has come, and indeed they are to be met with a punishment that cannot be averted.
