Commentary
It was recited: 'Your supplications.' It was said: Moses was calling out and Aaron was saying amen. It is permissible that both of them were calling out together.
The meaning is: Your supplication is answered, and whatever you request will happen, but in its time. So be steadfast and remain on what you are upon of calling and increasing in establishing the proof. Indeed, Noah, peace be upon him, remained among his people for a thousand years except for a little, so do not rush. Ibn Jurayj said: Moses remained after the supplication for forty years. And do not follow the path of those who do not know, meaning do not follow the way of the ignorant regarding Allah's custom in linking matters to interests, and do not rush, for haste is not beneficial. This is as He said to Noah, peace be upon him: 'Indeed, I advise you not to be among the ignorant.' It was also recited: 'And do not follow,' with a light noon, and its breaking is due to the meeting of the two silent letters, resembling the dual noon, and with the softening of the t from 'follow.'
