Commentary
They do not hope for Our meeting; they do not expect it at all, nor do they even think of it due to their negligence that overwhelms them, which is astonishing due to pleasures and love of the immediate over being aware of the truths. Or do they not hope for a good meeting with Us as the happy ones hope? Or do they not fear a bad meeting with Us, which they should fear? They are pleased with the worldly life over the Hereafter, and they prefer the little fleeting over the abundant everlasting, as His saying, 'Are you satisfied with the worldly life over the Hereafter?' They are at ease with it and settled in it, like one who is not disturbed from it. So they built strongly and hoped far.
