Your place is to remain in your place. Do not depart until you see what will be done to you. And you are emphasized by the pronoun in your place to fulfill the meaning of the saying 'remain.' And 'and your partners' is an addition to it. It has been read 'and your partners' with the 'and' meaning 'with,' and the agent in it is what is in 'your place' of the meaning of the action. So We distinguished between them and separated them and cut off their pairs. The connection that was between them in this world, or We distanced them after gathering them in the standing. And their partners disown them and their worship, as Allah, the Exalted, says: 'Then it will be said to them, Where are those you used to associate with Allah?' They will say, 'They have gone away from us.' And it has been read: 'So We distinguished between them,' like saying: 'He turned his cheek' and 'He turned it,' and 'He spoke to him' and 'He spoke to him.' 'What you used to worship besides us, you were only worshiping the devils, as they commanded you to take rivals to Allah, and you obeyed them.'
