Commentary
The days of those who have passed before them are the events of Allah, the Exalted, among them. Just as it is said 'the days of the Arabs' for their events. Then We will save Our messengers, which is connected to a statement that is omitted, indicated by His saying: 'except like the days of those who have passed before them.' It is as if it were said: We will destroy the nations, then We will save Our messengers, recounting the past conditions. And those who believed, and those who believed with them, likewise We will save the believers, just as We save the believers from you, and We will destroy the polytheists. And it is truly upon Us to intervene, meaning: the right of that is truly upon Us. And it has been recited: 'We will save,' with emphasis.
